The Old Per­li­can Her­itage Com­mit­tee will hold a Com­mem­o­ra­tion Day (Me­mo­rial Day) ser­vice at the United Church ceme­tery at 11 a.m.

Hosted by Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Branch 23 Car­bon­ear. Please join us to hon­our and re­mem­ber those who paid the supreme sac­ri­fice and served our coun­try. July 7 Free day at Pla­cen­tia mu­seum

Ad­mis­sion to the O’Reilly House Mu­seum in Pla­cen­tia will be free of charge on July 7 for Canada His­toric Places Day and to re­veal re­cent re­or­ga­ni­za­tion of dis­plays and en­hance­ments to the mu­seum. Hours: 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1-5 p.m.

Sun­day Old-Time Coun­try Mu­sic

The Bay Roberts Lions Club is host­ing an old time coun­try mu­sicblue­grass open mic ses­sion on the fourth Sun­day of ev­ery month. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show starts at 2 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge at the door and cafe­te­ria ser­vice is avail­able. Mu­si­cians are en­cour­aged to bring along an in­stru­ment and par­tic­i­pate in the en­ter­tain­ment or just sit and tap your feet to the sound of some of your fa­vorite coun­try songs.
