Old Perlican Memorial Day ceremony
The Old Perlican Heritage Committee will hold a Commemoration Day (Memorial Day) service at the United Church cemetery at 11 a.m.
July 1 Carbonear Memorial Day ceremony
Hosted by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 Carbonear. Please join us to honour and remember those who paid the supreme sacrifice and served our country. Parade forms 10:15 a.m. in the Civic Centre parking lot. Service at the Cenotaph begins at 10:50 a.m. Please note that wreaths to be included with the official list must be at the RCL Branch 23 by 8 p.m. June 30. For more info call 596-3691.
July 7 Free day at Placentia museum
Admission to the O’Reilly House Museum in Placentia will be free of charge on July 7 for Canada Historic Places Day and to reveal recent reorganization of displays and enhancements to the museum. Hours: 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1-5 p.m.

Canadian Blood Services will hold a blood donor clinic at the Knights of Columbus, Carbonear, on Tuesday, July 24, from 12:30–3 p.m. & 4:30–8 p.m. There are 161 appointments to fill. Book appointments today by downloading the GiveBlood app or visit blood.ca.

Saturday Carbonear Legion chase the ace

Sunday Old-Time Country Music
The Bay Roberts Lions Club is hosting an old time country musicbluegrass open mic session on the fourth Sunday of every month. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show starts at 2 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge at the door and cafeteria service is available. Musicians are encouraged to bring along an instrument and participate in the entertainment or just sit and tap your feet to the sound of some of your favorite country songs. Hope to see you there.
Tuesday New Hope Al-ANON
Meets every Tuesday 7:30 p.m. at the U-Turn Addictions Centre in Carbonear, at 46 Powell Drive. A 12step recovery program for relatives and friends of alcoholics.
The Trinity Conception NAR-ANON Family Group offers a 12-step program designed to help relatives and friends of addicts recover from the effects of their addiction.
