Holy­rood RCMP clocks ve­hi­cle at 151 km/hr on Trans-Canada High­way

Holy­rood RCMP pulled over a driver re­port­edly trav­el­ing at a dan­ger­ous speed last Mon­day on the Trans-Canada High­way.

Ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease, a call came in from a con­cerned mo­torist at 5 p.m. Oct. 29 in­di­cat­ing an­other ve­hi­cle was go­ing too fast. Of­fi­cers soon lo­cated the ve­hi­cle, which was trav­el­ing in ex­cess of 151 kilo­me­tres per hour. The re­lease said the high­way was wet at the time, with rain and fog con­tribut­ing to poor weather con­di­tions.

The male driver was is­sued a speed­ing ticket, his li­cence sus­pended and ve­hi­cle im­pounded.

Holy­rood RCMP is warn­ing driv­ers of the dan­gers in­her­ent in speed­ing. The po­lice force plans to con­tinue en­force­ment ef­forts tar­get­ing ag­gres­sive driv­ers to keep high­ways safe. Holy­rood RCMP stopped a driver on the Trans-Canada High­way Oct. 29 who was al­legedly trav­el­ling at 151 kilo­me­tres per hour.
