Bay Roberts Peace Poster win­ners rec­og­nized for ef­forts

On Nov. 15 the Bay Roberts Lions Club cel­e­brated eight artists from All Hal­lows Ele­men­tary in North River, Amal­ga­mated Academy in Bay Roberts, Holy Re­deemer Ele­men­tary in Spaniards Bay and St. Peter Ele­men­tary in Up­per Is­land Cove.

Ap­prox­i­mately 180 stu­dents from Grades 6-8 par­tic­i­pated in cre­at­ing a poster to rep­re­sent the theme “Kind­ness Mat­ters” for the an­nual Lions Club In­ter­na­tional Peace Poster Con­test.

Judges Lion Ivy Pynn (Peace Poster Chair), Corey Mor­gan and Robyn Ne­whook had the dif­fi­cult task of se­lect­ing one top poster and one honourable men­tion poster from each of the four par­tic­i­pat­ing schools. Pam Par­sons, MHA for Har­bour Grace-Port de Grave, also at­tended the awards cer­e­mony and ac­knowl­edged each win­ner with a cer­tifi­cate.

The four win­ning posters will ad­vance to the district level con­test. Thank you to ev­ery­one who par­tic­i­pated and good luck to the lo­cal win­ners.
