Carbonear Christ­mas pa­rade spreads hol­i­day cheer

Dozens of par­tic­i­pants march, dance and drive through com­mu­nity

The sun shone brightly for Carbonear’s Christ­mas pa­rade on Dec. 9.

Start­ing at Home Hard­ware on Pow­ell Drive, dozens of ve­hi­cles and floats lined up to make their way through the com­mu­nity on Sun­day af­ter­noon to cel­e­brate the sea­son and share some hol­i­day cheer.

De­spite some colder tem­per­a­tures through­out the day, plenty of peo­ple lined the streets to watch the pa­rade as it pro­ceeded down Pow­ell Drive, wended its way through Wa­ter Street and back through Crocker’s Cove. Dancers from DanSing Stu­dio were one of many groups of peo­ple that braved the win­ter chill to dance their way through the Carbonear pa­rade on Sun­day, Dec. 9. Carbonear Col­le­giate’s cheer­lead­ing team mak­ing their way down Pow­ell Drive.


Santa Claus brought along all of his rein­deer to help guide him through the pa­rade this year as he wished ev­ery­one a Merry Christ­mas.

Some par­tic­i­pants came with a mes­sage to share with those watch­ing from the side­lines.
