Sec­ond an­nual Aux­il­iary Cup help­ing out

RCMP and Car­bon­ear Col­le­giate Sen­tinels raise funds and large food bank do­na­tion

On Dec. 15 RCMP of­fi­cers from Har­bour Grace, Bay Roberts and Holy­rood De­tach­ments par­tic­i­pated in the sec­ond an­nual Aux­il­iary Cup hockey tour­na­ment.

Hockey games were played against the male and fe­male teams of the Car­bon­ear Col­le­giate Sen­tinels.

Through com­mu­nity sup­port, more than $200 and a large food bank do­na­tion was raised. The local com­mu­nity helped to sup­port the event through spon­sor­ing hockey jer­seys and raf­fle items. The Town of Har­bour Grace do­nated the fa­cil­ity and ice time for the game.

The of­fi­cial open­ing of the game was con­ducted by Har­bour Grace Staff Sgt. Greg Hicks, Har­bour Grace Mayor Don Coombs, Car­bon­ear Mayor Frank Butt, Miss Teen Trin­ity-Con­cep­tion Bri­anna Bar­rett, Ju­nior Miss New­found­land and Labrador Rachel Gra­ham and the Cee Bee’s mas­cot Honey Bee.
