CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW COMING TO SPRINGHILL

The Springhill branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be hosting the Springhill Christmas Craft Show on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include baked goods, chocolates, fudge and candy, knitting, crafts, preserves, jewelry, woodworkin­g and more. Tables are $10 each for vendors. Contact Sharon Carde at 902-5978537 or 902-694-7569 or Lillian

There will be free admission and door prizes. The canteen will be open.

Facemasks are mandatory and contact tracing informatio­n will be requested at the door.

HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO SOLVE A MURDER

Step back in time to a roaring 20s speakeasy run by Rose Marie where a medley of characters will make for a memorable night of intrigue and mystery.

Murder at the Juice Joint is being hosted by the Cumberland County Museum at 150 Church St., Amherst, beginning at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29.

Tickets are $15, via Eventbrite. Once you’ve purchased a ticket you’ll be sent a detailed character descriptio­n and background informatio­n. Get a costume together and arrive in full character.

The host will read the instructio­ns aloud, then each guest will receive a special envelope with informatio­n and objects.

After you mingle and get to know the guests the murder occurs. The guests will have to sleuth their way to solve the mystery.

A TRAIL RUN IS RETURNING IN EARLY NOVEMBER

The Trider’s Trail Run is back.

The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7 and registrati­on is now open. Register online at https://bit.ly/3jhVk6g or in person at the YMCA of Cumberland membership dervices fesk.

Cost is $35 with net proceeds going to support the YMCA of Cumberland.

Registrati­on will be limited to 100 participan­ts and there will be social distancing measures in place, including a

staggered starting time.
