Westside Board of Trade names award finalists

Winners of Key Business Awards to be announced Nov. 2

From wineries and a hotel to a yoga studio and logging company, the list of finalists for the Greater Westside Board of Trade’s Key Business Awards is diverse.

The board of trade is switching things up this year by releasing the names of the 26 finalists in alphabetic­al order, but not the categories in which they’re nominated. Some of the finalists are nominees in more than one category, and some categories have only one or two finalists.

The categories are: tourism/hospitalit­y, community and public service, Aboriginal, new business, young entreprene­ur, small business, large business, platinum service provider, sustainabl­e green business and performing arts. The finalists are:

— West Kelowna Warriors — Winmar Restoratio­n. A reception for finalists, members of the board of trade and the wider community will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Volcanic Hills Winery.

Tickets, $20, have to be purchased ahead of time by calling 250-768-3378 or emailing accounting@gwboardoft­rade.com. Admission includes a glass of wine, appetizers and a cash bar.

Winners will be announced at the Key Business Awards gala Nov. 2 at 19 Okanagan Bar & Grill at Two Eagles Golf Course.

Alex Draper, the director of business operations for the Westside Warriors and owner of Shut Out Sports Collectabl­es, will be the master of ceremonies.
