Peachland to extend waterfront walkway
A popular waterfront promenade in Peachland will be extended 700 metres in a few years.
Town financial statements indicate an extension of the Centennial walkway from its current endpoint of 13th Street to Todd Road is planned for 2021.
Project cost is currently estimated to be $1.3 million, funded from two reserve accounts.
The first phase of the walkway, opened in 2009, includes a wide multi-purpose path, benches and lookout points, and a bioswale that filters run-off from Beach Avenue before draining into Okanagan Lake.
