THEFT and FRAUD

Dec. 16 RCMP file: 2017-75008 A theft was reported to Kelowna RCMP that occurred between 11:45 p.m. Dec. 15 and 12:45 a.m. on Dec. 16 at the Prestige Hotel in downtown Kelowna. A wallet, car keys and a phone were taken and one of the cards in the wallet was used to obtain money from a bank. RCMP would like to see if they can get more informatio­n from this female person of interest who was in the hotel at the time. MISCHIEF TO VEHICLES

Dec. 24 RCMP file: 2017-76588 On the morning of Dec. 24, a man reported to Kelowna RCMP that the front passenger window of his 2016 Jeep Wrangler had been smashed while parked overnight in the secured undergroun­d parkade of a condo building on the 700 block of Stockwell Avenue. The window of a 2009 Smart car was also smashed. Video surveillan­ce was reviewed which captured a Caucasian male in his late teens/early 20s, approximat­ely 5’9” tall wearing a brown winter jacket with hood, a black and fluorescen­t green baseball cap, skater shoes with red or pink laces and a forest green and black backpack entering the parkade. Jan. 14 RCMP file: 2018-2320 Lake Country RCMP received a report of property stolen from a garage in the 13000 block of East Ridge Drive on the morning of Jan. 14. The homeowner went out to the garage to discover the overhead door open and the doors on her vehicle ajar. Items taken from the vehicle include pink/gold coloured Oakley sunglasses in a white case and a small tan coloured ladies clutch style purse that contained identifica­tion, credit cards and health care cards.The main door of the garage may have been accidental­ly left open. Jan. 13 RCMP file: 2018-2475 Lake Country RCMP were called on Jan. 15 when residents discovered damage to a couple of locks on doors at a condo building in the 10000 block of Bottom Wood Lake Road. Video surveillan­ce revealed two males and one female arriving in a dark coloured Mazda 3 hatchback and entering the condo during the wee hours of Jan. 13. A large male with a slight beard wearing a ball cap and a grey hoodie pulled up over his face jimmied the front door and let the other darker complexion­ed male who was wearing a tuque pulled down to hide his face into the building. They then forced the lock to the door of the parkade in the basement allowing the female to drive through the garage door. They rummaged around the parkade for a while before leaving. It does not appear anything was stolen. THEFT OF TRUCK

Jan. 15 RCMP file: 2018-2495 Between 7 p.m. on Jan. 14 and 8 a.m. the next morning, a truck was stolen from the 2700 block of Auburn Road in West Kelowna. A credit card from the wallet left in the vehicle was used before the card was cancelled. The truck is a black 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup Crew ECODiesel with VIN 1C6RR7PM3G­S237022 and BC licence plate number EB1135. The truck has rain guards, stock wheels, sprayed bed liner but no tonneau cover.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

Jan. 10 RCMP file: 2018-1577 On Jan. 10, West Kelowna RCMP received a complaint regarding a theft from a vehicle in an undergroun­d parkade of a building in the 3800 block of Brown Road. Suspects stole registrati­on papers, a portable debit machine and keys. Surveillan­ce shows a female using a key fob to gain access to the main building at 4 a.m., entering the garage and opening the door to allow a male driving an older grey Mercedes into the garage. The suspects are described as a Caucasian female with brown or dark blonde hair and a Caucasian male with brown hair, and a goatee. DONATION BOX

THEFT A clerk at the 7-11at 1901 Harvey Ave. near Spall Road heard a noise when she was in the back of the store on Jan. 21 about 9:30 a.m. When she came out, she saw two men running away. Video surveillan­ce showed one man cutting the cord to the Crime Stoppers donation box before they both bolted.
