100 years since war’s end merits 100 rings of bells
The bells at Mission Hill winery in West Kelowna will ring 100 times on Sunday to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War. The bell ringing will begin at sunset, 4:19 p.m. The event is part of the national Royal Canadian Legion’s Bells of Peace initiative to mark the moment 100 years ago when church bells across the country rang out to let Canadians know an armistice had been signed and the war was over.
As the sun goes down on Remembrance Day, each participating legion branch will ring a bell(s) 100 times to honour First World War veterans.
