Drugs, weapons seized from Merritt home
A large quantity of drugs and firearms were found in a Merritt home where two men were arrested last week.
On Nov. 1, investigators obtained a warrant to search a residence on Merritt Avenue under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Officers arrested a man who was found asleep in the residence, along with a second male resident who was later located and arrested for trafficking.
A search of the residence revealed several weapons, including a machete, baseball bats, a Taser stun gun, an airsoft replica pistol and a loaded .22-calibre handgun that had previously been reported as stolen in the Lower Mainland.
Investigators also located about 2.7 kilograms of cannabis, 160 grams of heroin, 310 grams of cocaine, 66 grams of methamphetamine, scales and about $3,500 in cash and a large quantity of coins.
The investigation is ongoing.
