Po­lice seek pair in rob­bery bid at Ver­non casino

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter two sus­pects broke into a Ver­non casino early Wed­nes­day morn­ing.

Ver­non RCMP re­sponded to a break and en­ter at Lake City Casino on An­der­son Way just af­ter 4 a.m.

Po­lice re­viewed sur­veil­lance im­ages of the in­ci­dent and found two male sus­pects had smashed through the front door.

The sus­pects at­tempted to steal an ATM from the front lobby but were un­suc­cess­ful, said Const. Kelly Brett.

They left empty handed, but not be­fore caus­ing sig­nif­i­cant dam­age to the casino.

The first sus­pect is de­scribed as a male wear­ing a brown hooded sweat­shirt, jeans and white run­ning shoes.

The sec­ond sus­pect is de­scribed as a male wear­ing a dark-coloured puffy jacket, a black ski mask cover­ing his face, dark-coloured pants and black run­ning shoes with white soles.

The sus­pect ve­hi­cle is de­scribed as a green Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with a green canopy. The canopy has a small sticker on the rear win­dow on the lower right-hand side.
