WARNING:

In a bizarre sign of the times, the BC Centre for Disease Control is now giving out pandemic sex tips.

The main advice is if you’re feeling sick, don’t try getting lucky.

However, those who are feeling healthy shouldn’t shun sex. Rather, they should try changing things up to limit face-to-face contact — including wearing a mask during sexy times.

“Sex can be very important for mental, social and physical wellbeing; it is a part of everyday life. People can, will and should continue to have sex during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the BC CDC on its website.

The provincial health program does have some kinky recommendations… “Use barriers, like walls (e.g., glory holes), that allow for sexual contact but prevent close face-to-face contact.”

Still, to be clear, the province advised the safest sex is alone.

“You are your safest sex partner,” said the BC CDC. “If you masturbate with a partner(s), physical distancing will lower your chance of getting COVID19.”

Other alternatives are video dates, phone chats, sexting, online chat rooms and group cam rooms, which are all ways to engage in sexual activity with no chance of spreading COVID-19. Those who go that route, should also consider the risks of sharing information or photos online, and web camming.

COVID-19 virus spreads through droplets from the mouth. It can also be passed by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching the face, eyes, nose, or mouth.
