Wild neighbours

Learn more about bats and participat­e in the Citizen Science Bat Count at the Meet Your Wild Neighbours pop-up program from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Shannon Lake Regional Park. This free drop-in program is for all ages. Regional Parks will provide sanitized equipment and will be practicing safe physical distancing.

Juggling lessons

School age kids can learn to juggle online from 4 to 4:30 p.m. as part of the Okanagan Regional Library’s Summer Reading Club program. Learn about different juggling props such as balls, clubs and rings and then try juggling with a lesson and pointers. Seated Tai Chi

The seated class of Tai Chi will be held indoors at the Sarafanov Ballet Studio, 2035A Louie Drive Fridays at 9 a.m. for beginners and 10:15 a.m. for the ongoing class. Pull up a chair and join Wine Country Tai Chi as they work on balance, coordinati­on, energy, flexibilit­y and circulatio­n to optimize your health. Day Long Weekend for a Drive-Thru Food Truck Fest at Prospera Place from noon to 8 p.m. All vendors and staff will be using full personal protection equipment. Local vendors include Surf Side California, Lemon Heaven, REEL Mac and Cheese and mini donut, fried chicken and burger joint concession­s.

For those who aren’t driving, there will be a takeout zone limited to 50 people at a time where people can order food to be delivered to them.

Lunchbox lectures

Coralee Miller is a museum assistant for the Sncewips Heritage Museum by day and a student at UBCO working toward her BFA by night. Miller will be the speaker at the online Lunchbox Lectures, Cultural Food for Thought at noon. Miller will share how her work as an informatio­nal guide within the museum and how her job in educating and preserving syilx/Okanagan history and culture has helped her navigate her own identity as a syilx/Okanagan woman and as an artist.
