Environmen­tal tsar at $200K? Just the start

I read where Kelowna mayor and council are considerin­g hiring an environmen­t “tsar’’ at $200,000 per annum on the recommenda­tion of city staff.

Mayor Colin Basran is quoted as saying, “You are seeing municipali­ties create entire department­s devoted to climate change and we’re talking about one person.”

Basran has been around city hall about 10 years and he still does not know that in government bureaucrac­ies, all depart
