Man flees from police twice in stolen car

-

The driver of a car reported stolen refused to get out of the vehicle and was forcibly removed, police say.

A black Subaru Legacy was reported stolen from a West Kelowna home at 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Police spotted it minutes later on Harvey Avenue in Kelowna.

Although police pulled the car over on Banks Road, the driver refused to get out on his own.

“The driver and sole occupant refused to co-operate with police direction and was removed from the vehicle and arrested,” RCMP Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in a release.

A 21-year-old man, wanted on two outstanding warrants, was taken into custody.
