Ebus passenger had COVID-19

- — Staff

Passengers on an Ebus that arrived in Kelowna on Dec. 20 from Abbotsford may have been exposed to COVID-19.

The potential exposure was on Ebus 5725, the B.C. Centre for Disease Control says. The bus left Abbotsford at 2:40 p.m.

It’s only the second case of possible COVID-19 exposure reported for a long distance bus trip in B.C. The other was in March.

Currently, the BC CDC website lists nine possible exposures at Kelowna-area schools that occurred in mid-December up until Dec. 18, when the Christmas holidays began.

The most recent exposures, on Dec. 16-18, occurred at North Glenmore Elementary, Kelowna Secondary School, Dr. Knox Middle School, Mount Boucherie Secondary School, and A.S. Matheson Elementary.

Schools reopen next Tuesday.
