Mediator called in to credit union dispute

A mediator has been engaged to try resolve a labour dispute at a Vernon credit union.

The union that represents workers at VantageOne and the employer have agreed to use a mediator on Thursday, and more dates will be scheduled if required.

In a letter to union members, shop steward Nadine Burton says she is “optimistic” a new contract can be struck with the assistance of the mediator.

Workers have been on strike since early December though they returned to work through the Christmas season.
