COVID claims labour activist
A longtime B.C. labour activist has died from COVID-19.
Gordie Larkin was a Canadian Labour Congress representative who advised and assisted the North Okanagan Labour Council for many years around the turn of the century.
Larkin, 78, was also active in Burnaby civic politics.
He had been fighting the coronavirus for two months, the Burnaby Now newspaper reported.
In a Tweet, B.C. Labour Minister Harry Bains said: “Today workers lost a great advocate and I lost a friend.”
