Building boom in Lake Country

- By Daily Courier Staff

The ongoing pandemic didn’t slow down a years-long building boom in Lake Country.

New construction worth $115.5 million was approved in 2020, town council heard Tuesday. That was up from $112 million in 2019, and $102 million in 2018.

Almost half of all new construction in Lake Country last year was accounted for by the building of 93 single-family homes, collectively worth $58 million.

Twenty-one multi-family projects worth $19 million were also built last year. There were 18 new farm-related buildings, worth $11.6 million.

Three successive years of record-setting construction values began in 2014, before building fell back slightly in 2017. Beginning in 2018, however, construction values have again risen every year.
