Interior Health has clarified the information they put out Wednesday regarding the COVID-19 situation at Heritage Retirement Residence in West Kelowna.

The building on Brown Road offers both assisted living and independent living.

“There have been 46 cases connected to the outbreak; 41 residents and five staff, with sadly three people passing away due to their illness,” reads a Thursday statement from IH.

“All residents but one have passed the end of their isolation period and the facility is working to slowly lift the restrictions that were put in place,” IH says.

Walks are being scheduled for the residents and some residents may be leaving the facility to attend essential appointments, IH says.

Social visits have not yet re-started and the common areas like the dining room will remain closed until the outbreak is declared over, IH says.
