Lions sign 3 receivers, including Frenchman Whitecaps sign Rose to 1-year extension

The B.C. Lions have re-signed internatio­nal receiver Benjamin Plu and added Canadian receivers Jacob Scarfone and Cordell Hastings.

Plu, a native of France, played four games for B.C. in 2019 after being selected seventh overall in the inaugural European draft.

Scarfone, a University of Guelph product, joins the Lions after playing in 11 games over the past two seasons with Ottawa.

Hastings was selected in the fourth round (43rd overall) of last year’s CFL draft out of Acadia University.

VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Whitecaps have signed defender/midfielder Andy Rose to a one-year contract extension.

Rose returns for his third season with the

Whitecaps and seventh in MLS.

The 30-year-old Englishman has made 39 appearance­s across all competitio­ns with the Whitecaps, including 32 starts.

The UCLA graduate started his MLS career with a four-year run with Seattle in 2012. He then played with Coventry City in England and Motherwell FC of Scotland before joining the Whitecaps.
