“Syriana” (2005): In an Oscarwinning performance, Clooney transforms himself to play a ragged CIA veteran caught up in oil dealings.

“Good Night, and Good Luck.” (2005): As both director and costar, Clooney does justice to the battle between television news legend Edward R. Murrow and Sen. Joseph McCarthy.
