The Daily Courier

Overwhelmed by coverage

- DEAR EDITOR:

For some time now, as almost everyone knows, we have been in “a pandemic-driven society.”

From masks, hand washing, twometre spacing and, at times, lockdown scenarios and restrictions the list of pandemic effects seems to grow exponentially.

A question to be asked might be, “Given the circumstances, how am I coping?” In some cases, not much change.

However, in others, there are some different daily dynamics. How much media info is enough?

On a daily basis something problematic emerges having to do with vaccine quantity reception; who will get vaccinated and when; where it will happen and who will make it happen.

A cornucopia of exceptions to the exceptions seems to be the order of the day. Is there really any positive information that will make a difference? The jury’s still out.

Daily news reports show scenes of vaccinations ad nauseum. I don’t know about you, but I for one, am tired of this graphic phenomenon showing people getting vaccinated.

What is its purpose? Why the continual repeats? What do the experts want us to know that we don’t already know? If a picture is worth 1,000 words, show a picture once and condense the “so-called supporting rhetoric.”

Masks, hand washing and spacing appear to be working for the most part without all of the other hullabaloo. We get it!

When is enough enough?
