Simply fixing road not enough
DEAR EDITOR:
I would like to add my thoughts to Stephanie Goodban’s letter regarding Westside Road (‘Driving Westside Road a shock,’ Courier letters, Feb. 10).
I do not think that simply repairing the road will be satisfactory considering the need for the next 10 or 20 years. Perhaps consideration should be given to the expanding of traffic anticipated over the next several years, and, therefore, expand the Westside Road as a 97A from West Kelowna connecting to 97A to near Sicamous.
I am sure Kelowna would concur as reducing traffic through Kelowna, especially cars and trucks travelling from Penticton, etc., to Alberta.
It could reduce traffic over the bridge which is said to need a fourth lane.
