Ice sculptures demolished on purpose this time
To comply with City of Vernon instructions, the popular Vernon Winter Carnival ice sculptures in Polson Park were knocked down and the ice trucked away on Tuesday. The standing sculptures would have become a potential public risk and if the pieces of ice were left on the ground, there was concern about the melt adding to the saturated ground of the park.
