Man drives stolen car into Regina museum
REGINA — A 28-year-old man has been charged after a stolen car crashed into Royal Saskatchewan Museum in Regina. Police say in a news release they were dispatched Tuesday to a collision at the museum, which is home to a well-known tyrannosaurus display.
Police say they found a man inside the museum, but the release doesn’t indicate that there was any damage to the exhibits.
The man, who was arrested after a brief foot chase, had a cut on his arm and was taken to hospital.
Officers have determined the vehicle had been stolen only moments before the crash and had been observed speeding on a nearby street.
Okimaw Bear of Meadow Lake, Sask., is charged with driving while prohibited; break, enter and commit mischief; and theft of an auto under $5,000.
