Yard-waste pickup resumes on Monday

Curbside yard-waste pickup will resume in the Central Okanagan on March 1.

Waste Reduction Facilitator Rae Stewart said now’s a good time to check your green bin for anything that shouldn’t be in there, like plastics, flower pots, garbage, rocks, sod or soil.

Items that can be put in the bins include leaves, tree needles, branches, pruning five centimetres in diameter and under, wood chips, bark, garden plants and grass clippings.

Green bins are emptied every second week, on the weeks blue bins aren’t.
