Lorin Card Godfrey passed away peacefully on May 7, 2022 at age 88. He will be greatly missed by his sons, Richard (Heather), David (Karen) and John (Barbara); daughters, Karen

19 grandchild­ren and 35 great grandchild­ren; brothers Don (Chris), Robert (Wendy) and sister, Marilyn Pitcher; and many more extended family. He is predecease­d by his wife, Ann (Van Orman) (2017) his parents, Floyd (1992) and Clarice (1980) Godfrey; and brother, Ken (2016), and sister, Arlene (2019). Lorin was born in Magrath, Alberta on July 22, 1933. He mostly grew up in Cardston, Alberta, his home town. In 1954 he served a two-year mission for his church in South Africa. Upon his return, he was married to Ann in 1956 and they celebrated their 61st anniversar­y before Ann’s passing. Working together, Lorin graduated from Brigham Young University. He settled into a career as a federal public servant working in Alberta and Ontario before settling in Penticton, BC. He retired from the Summerland Research Station in 1996 after 18 years there. He was devoted to his family and served many years in various church positions. He loved watching and participat­ing in sports, the outdoors and being with family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2946 South Main Street, in Penticton on Monday, May 16, 11:00 am (viewing at 10:00 am). A family and friend service will be held in Cardston, Alberta at the Leavitt Chapel, Wednesday, May 18, 10 am with burial at 11 am at the Cardston Cemetery. A luncheon
