“Spotlight” (2015): In this Oscar-winning drama, McAdams is part of the superb ensemble playing a Boston investigat­ive-reporting team pursuing a scandal involving the Catholic Church.

“The Vow” (2012): McAdams’ affecting portrayal of a woman who loses her memory in a car accident is a huge plus for this familiar-feeling tale.

“Midnight in Paris” (2011): Woody Allen’s comedy-fantasy features fine work by McAdams as a fiancee who doesn’t share her beloved’s (Owen Wilson) very romantic view of the City of Light.

“Morning Glory” (2010):A totally winning, often amusing McAdams plays a morning-show producer challenged to make her new anchor team (Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton) work together.

“State of Play” (2009):

Reporters (McAdams, Russell Crowe) of very different background­s probe a politician’s (Ben Affleck) possible link to an aide’s death.

“The Time Traveler’s Wife” (2009): Now the source of an HBO series as well, the best seller first yielded this bigscreen version casting McAdams as a woman whose husband (Eric Bana) has a penchant to move between space and time regularly.

“Red Eye” (2005): Director Wes Craven’s intense thriller casts McAdams as a traveler held captive aboard a flight by a clever would-be killer (Cillian Murphy).

“Wedding Crashers” (2005): A highly engaging McAdams makes it understand­able that Owen Wilson’s crasher character would try to steal her away from her

longtime beau (Bradley Cooper).

“The Notebook” (2004):

Stardom was cemented relatively early for McAdams with her flashback-bound portrayal of half of a forbidden romance in this Nicholas Sparks story.

“Mean Girls” (2004): For some fans, McAdams always will be Regina, leader of the mean Plastics who rule the school ... and eventually earn the potent wrath of one target
