Make a gift that costs you nothing now leave a gift in your will

-

The gift you consider making today through your estate planning will make a profound difference to the quality of life for someone else in the future. Your gift can play a part in the care needed to save the life of a newborn baby, address the mental health struggles of a teenager, or ensure a senior receives quality care. Your gift is a living legacy and an investment in your community’s healthcare.

A growing number of people want the peace of mind that comes knowing their legacy will have significant impacts. A gift in your Will is a powerful gift that lasts and does not take away from the resources you or your families may depend on today.

When you look into making a gift in your Will, you may be surprised to learn that a donation of as little as 1% of your estate can result in a bigger contribution than ever thought possible. You are still leaving 99% of your estate to your loved ones, and the best part, is you are not using any of the money you need now.

Many legacy gifts come to our attention after a donor has passed. At the Foundation, we love it when our donors tell us they have left us a gift in their will, as it gives us the opportunity to better understand their vision for their gift, and to thank them for their support. Recently, one of our donors, Anne, shared that she has left a legacy gift to the Foundation. We were grateful we could learn more about her motivation and thank her for her gift. Here is what Anne shared:

“The SOS Medical Foundation uses donations to purchase critical equipment such as the CT Scan, and thanks to this equipment being available, I was able to start my healing journey. I have made a gift in my will so that the help given to me will be there when others need it.” -Anne K.

Thanks to our donors, we are able to respond to the greatest needs through purchasing medical equipment, funding programs, and enhancing the health care delivery infrastructure to elevate the patient experience at 16 locations throughout the South Okanagan Similkameen. What will your legacy be?
