Sony just had a showcase after many months of nothing. Let’s go over the highlights from the show. Project Q is a handheld device that lets players remotely play PS5 on an 8 inch LCD screen. The device looks like a dual sense controller split in half with a 8 inch screen in the middle. Players can play games at 1080p and at 60 frames per second over WIFI. We don’t know the cost of this device but with the nature of the device I’d put the price at around US$299.

Since Sony now owns Bungie, Bungie also made an appearance. The latest game in the works from Bungie was shown with a flashy trailer and some cool visuals. We weren’t shown any gameplay from the game, just a brief trailer.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater had another trailer shown that sadly also doesn’t show any gameplay either.

The one game that had a gameplay trailer that really had a nice gameplay trailer was Spider-Man 2. The trailer showcased the new symbiote suit which showed off some new abilities and move sets. The fight shown was fluid and fast. We also got a new look at Miles Morales which will be a playable character in the new game. We currently don’t have a release date for the game but it would be a safe bet that it will release this fall.

Other than some smaller indie titles there weren’t any games with gameplay at the showcase.

We didn’t have any trailers or information from Naughty Dog about the Last of Us multiplayer mode or anything else that they are working on.

Other than Spider-man we don’t know of any other title from Sony coming to the system in the fall.

Microsoft has its showcase on June 10. Microsoft needs to bring the big guns to have any hope of gaining back the confidence of gamers. We don’t know what is waiting for Xbox gamers in the fall and winter other than hopefully Starfield.

For those asking what I’m currently working on, that would be my Diablo 4 review on Series X.
