Two youths charged with ut­ter­ing threat fol­low­ing school lock­down

Two youths ac­cused of trig­ger­ing a lock­down at O’Gor­man High School Tues­day each face a pair of crim­i­nal charges.

The Tim­mins Po­lice Ser­vice said both have been charged with ut­ter­ing threats and ut­ter­ing false in­for­ma­tion.

The false in­for­ma­tion charge laid against the youths comes un­der sec­tion 372 (1) of the Crim­i­nal Code and states, “Every­one who, with in­tent to in­jure or alarm,” con­veys “in­for­ma­tion that he knows is false, is guilty of an in­dictable of­fense.”

Both ac­cused were re­leased from cus­tody on a Prom­ise to Ap­pear in court on Dec. 17.

In the mean­time, po­lice are con­tin­u­ing with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion, Any­one with in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing this in­ci­dent is asked to con­tact the Tim­mins Po­lice Ser­vice at 705-264-1201.
