Simcoe man wins lottery
A Simcoe man is $1 million richer after winning a Maxmillions prize in last month’s Lotto Max draw.
George Childs, 62, said he has been playing the lottery for about 30 years. Up until the big win on Oct. 26, the most he had won in a single draw was $125.
Childs, who is employed as a shipper for a tractor company, had some time to think about his windfall.
“I had to head to the airport after I learned I had won – what a drive that was,” he said in a media release.
The married father of two plans to retire and take a Caribbean vacation.
“This win is exciting and overwhelming – it’s going to take some white sand for it all to sink in,” he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Real Canadian Superstore in Simcoe.
