THURS­DAY, NOV. 8 REFUGEE COM­MIT­TEE MEET­ING:

The Nor­folk Refugee Com­mit­tee will meet Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church Par­ish Cen­tre, 211 Union Street, Sim­coe. New and re­turn­ing vol­un­teers are in­vited to learn about work­ing with a new Syr­ian fam­ily of two par­ents and six chil­dren who are ex­pected to ar­rive in Sim­coe by Dec. 31. All new and re­turn­ing vol­un­teers are en­cour­aged to at­tend. HIS­TORY TRIVIA:

The Nor­folk His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety His­tory Trivia Night Fundraiser will be held on Nov. 8 at the Army, Navy & Air­force Unit 255, 53 Wa­ter St., Sim­coe at 7:30 p.m.. All res­i­dents of Nor­folk County and be­yond are in­vited to en­ter a team to im­press ev­ery­one with their his­tor­i­cal knowl­edge. Each team can be four-five mem­bers with an en­try fee of $25 per team mem­ber or $100. Pro­ceeds from this fundrais­ing event will be di­rected into the NHS Schol­ar­ship and Ed­u­ca­tion Fund. LYNN VAL­LEY TRAIL AGM:

The Lynn Val­ley Trail As­so­ci­a­tion an­nual gen­eral meet­ing will be held Nov. 8 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Port Dover Li­brary. Waterford Le­gion Fish N Chips din­ner will be held Nov. 9 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cost for adults is $10.50 for one piece of fish and $14.50 for two pieces. Meal price for chil­dren $6. Serv­ing fish, fries, coleslaw and a bun.

KARAOKE:

Karaoke held at the Waterford Le­gion on Nov. 9 from 7:30 – 11:30 p.m. DJ is Black Creek.

Waterford Le­gion Br. 123 in part­ner­ship with Le­gions across Canada will par­tic­i­pate in Ring­ing of Bells of Peace on Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Lo­cal churches will ring bells 100 times to com­mem­o­rate the end of the First World War.

MON­DAY, NOV. 12 HORTICULUTRAL SO­CI­ETY:
