I hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather but I realize we badly need lots of rain, the sooner the better.

Last week we had the Birthday Party for May and June but not so many birthday people turned up as expected. We had a nice time playing Card Bingo and sang Happy Birthday to the birthday guests.

Friday saw many of our members at Sunshine Lodge enjoying the Pie Auction and helping the Lodge make some funds. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Saturday we held a Strawberry Tea at the centre, a disappointing turnout but those attending had a good visit and enjoyed a very appropriate poem read by Joanne and George sang a song. The door prize (a beautiful bouquet) was won by Nellie, a prize for the eldest lady went to Jo Smith and the youngest prize went to Barb Halliday visiting her mum from Airdrie. Thank you to Rose for donating the Strawberry Shortcake and helping serve. It was nice to be able to visit with folks we hadn’t seen for some time. The senior bowlers had their wind up party on Thursday and some other activities will be finishing this month (check the activities).

Bridge winners this week 1. Dan & Freda Hird 4430 points. 2. Bill & Mary Burke 3230. 3. Dan & Muriel MacDermid 2750.

The following weeks see a trip to PaSu Farm on Wednesday, June 18 (a few seats still available). Cards including Crib and Canasta plus Bingo on Wednesdays will be available all summer. Daisy Smith is still in Red Deer Hospital after major surgery, we all wish her well and hope to see her home in the not too distant future.
