The Drumheller Mail - - CLASSIFIEDS - Emily Hollingshead

The Drumheller Public Library has a long history of author visits and travel nights. This June, we’re trying something new – an actor visit from Rosebud! Student Meghan Hanet is producing and starring in Rilla of the Island, inspired by the last book in L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables series, Rilla of Ingleside. It’s a wonderful book, and significant to Canadian history (you’ll have to ask Meghan why!), so of course we asked Meghan to be our June presenter.

The play doesn’t run until July, but on Wednesday, June 22, at 6:30 pm, Meghan will be at the library to talk about the process of adapting a story, why she loves Rilla, and what you can expect to see on stage. Come a bit early to browse our display of books and other materials about what life was like in Canada during the World Wars.

For more information on programs, events and services at the library, visit our website at www.drumhellerlibrary. ca, or call us at 403-823-1371. We’re also on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!
