I hope everyone had a wonderful Labour Day and enjoyed the last long weekend of the summer.
The Rockyford Minor Hockey/Ringette Association AGM will take place on Thursday, September 15 at the arena at 7 p.m. Please go to www.rmhra.com and register your child for this season’s hockey or ringette teams. If you need further information, please give Tracy a call at 533-3930.

Fitness classes are being offered at the Rockyford Fitness Room (located in the Community Center). Classes are led by Tristan Desmet (fitness instructor, personal trainer and CPR certified). This is a light to moderate workout of cardio and weight training. Classes will run on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. for 8 weeks starting October 13. Holistic Yoga is also being offered with Gina Champigny on Monday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. starting October 17 to December 12 (8 weeks).To register, please call Cathy 533-3860 or Frances 934-4343.

The Photography Club returns on Wednesday, September 7, at 6:30 p.m. This small, friendly group meets every month at the Rockyford Library to share and discuss photos, techniques, and chat with other like-minded photographers. Free to attend, and please bring photos on a USB stick if you wish to show them.
Unidentified Finished Objects (UFOs) is back on Tuesday afternoons from 1 – 3 p.m. beginning Tuesday, September 13. If you have a passion for a hobby or craft ( knitting/ scrapbooking/ colouring…) that’s portable, why not join us?
Only 3 spots left for the Improve Your Memoir and Fiction Writing workshops. This 4-session workshop runs every second Saturday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The opening session on September 17 explores characters; October 1 is setting and language; October 15 is plotting, pacing, and planning; and October 29 is tying it together. Participants 12+ are invited to attend this free workshop and can register by contacting Rockyford Library (rockyfordlibrary.ca).
Fall is here, and Rockyford Library’s Moms ‘ N’ Tots program returns every Tuesday from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Parent Link will also be presenting Play & Learn activity sessions for 6 consecutive weeks starting Tuesday, September 20. Children will sing songs, read, and play in the interactive sessions from 9:45 – 11:15 a.m. Free to attend!
Writers’ Bootcamp is here! Join us on Saturday, September 24 for two free sessions: The morning session, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., explores everything you need to know about the publishing world. The afternoon session, 2 – 4 p.m., remedies ways to overcome the dreaded “mushy middle” of your novel. Both workshops are intended for beginner and intermediate writers who are looking to raise their writing skills to the next level. Presented via video conference by writer and speaker Ronnie Roberts, in conjunction with the RiSE network.
