Mark your calendars, the Hussar Fall Fair will be arriving on Sunday, October 23, 2016, from 10 am - 5 pm with a setup time for all vendors at 8 am, lunch available for purchase. Hosted by the Hussar Trip Club. The Village of Hussar will be hosting a July 1st Celebration for Canada’s 150th Year in Confederation. This will happen in 2017. The Village is looking for anyone who wants to make a donation to this event. If you make a donation, you will receive a charitable tax receipt. Cheques can be made out to Village of Hussar and mailed to Box 100. The Dalum/Hussar Lutheran Parish would like to extend an invitation to the community to a celebration of Pastor Dan Hendrickson’s 25th year of ordination. There will be a joint church service at Dalum at 11:15 on September 25 with lunch and a program to follow at 12:30. Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of the celebration. To commemorate this occasion, the congregations are raising a “guitar fund” to go towards the purchase of a new guitar to replace the one he broke earlier this year. Anyone in the community that has been touched by Pastor Dan’s ministry that wishes to contribute to the fund can do so by contacting the following: For Dalum: Contact Julie Eskeland at 823-5283. For Hussar: Contact Wendy Nielsen at 403-641-2203.
While we are exploring new library alternatives, you will still be able to obtain books at Chinook Financial. The books are there for everyone’s use. They will be lent on the honor system, so please feel free to pop in and pickup children’s books and current best sellers. Please return the items back to the displays. Thank you to Chinook Financial for providing the space and to the Marigold Library System for providing the best sellers. Keep watching for further library developments and our annual membership drive which will be held in September. Some shelving, a file cabinet and the desk are still available if anyone is interested they can contact any of the board members.
