Craigmyle Cardinal
I received some exciting news this past week. Congratulations are in order for Edwin, Brandy and Josie Burt. Young Josie, who has been a part of our community for the past year, is now officially the chosen daughter of Edwin and Brandy. Best wishes to this family of three.
Just a reminder that the next Craigmyle Historic Society meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 26 at 7:00 pm in the church basement. All interested persons are invited to be part of this dynamic group. Yes, that is the night of the first presidential debate – thankfully, I have recently learned how to operate the PVR!
Also coming up quickly is the first pancake breakfast of the fall season. Save your appetite for a great breakfast on Sunday, October 2 in the Craigmyle Church basement from 9:00 – 11:00 am.
There are still a limited number of “Craigmyle: the Saga Continues” history books available for sale. This could be the ideal Christmas present for an avid reader or history buff. Books can be purchased by contacting Gail (665-2292) or Bev (665-2492).
The annual Delia Fall Fair is quickly coming up on October 15 at the Delia Arena. While you are visiting and seeing all the Fair has to offer, you don’t want to miss the “Fine Art Photography Art Show and Sale” (sponsored by the Delia Historical Society) at the “Historic St. Patrick’s Church”. The work of local photographers from Delia, Hanna, Handhills and Drumheller will be featured. Mark your calendars and come out to enjoy the fair and photo display.
There is a free “Stay and Play” program being offered in Morrin this fall, designed for children 0-6 years of age (older siblings are always welcome). This program is open to all families in Starland County and is a great way to connect and meet other parents. It offers an opportunity for children to interact and participate in enriching activities. This program includes free play (puzzles, blocks, castles, play dough and more), as well as art, science, singing songs and reading picture books. This program is scheduled for Thursdays from 10:00 – 11:30 am from September 29 – October 27, with a Halloween party on October 27. The program continues from November 17 – December 8 with a Christmas party on December 8. The program, sponsored by the Golden Prairie Parent Link, will be held at the Morrin United Church. For further information, contact Yvonne Markotic at 403-8205157 or at [email protected]enprairiepic.ca
Birthday greetings go out to Bill Rees on September 14 and Marie Bannister and Brent Olmstead both sharing September 28. Have a great day!
