The Highland Market in Delia is now open for business! This is good news for Delia as we have been without a store since the former owners of the Delia General Store retired. Stop in and check out the new store if you haven’t already done so. You will be impressed with the open, bright decor, the well stocked shelves and the friendly service. Meet the new manager, Sonia Rasmusson, check out the talented paint job and all the local produce!
In honor of their 70th anniversary and in celebration of a great life, George and Elsie Humphrey invite you to join them for lunch and visiting on Sunday, October 2, 2016, from 12 noon to 3 p.m., at the Delia Community Centre.
On Thursday afternoon, October 6, there will be an Alberta Seniors Financial Benefits presentation at the Delia Drop In Centre at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and listen to this informative talk.
The annual Delia Fall Fair is quickly coming up on October 15 at the Delia Arena. While you are visiting and seeing all the Fair has to offer, you don’t want to miss the “Fine Art Photography Art Show and Sale”, sponsored by the the Delia Historical Society, at the “Historic St. Patrick’s Church” We are showcasing the work of local photographers from Delia, Craigmyle, Hanna, Handhills and Drumheller. The Delia Branch of the ATB Financial had their Customer Appreciation Day on Thursday at the Delia Community Centre, we all enjoyed those delicious huge juicy burgers with all the trimmings as well as the yummy cake. Thanks Irene and staff of the ATB for the great hospitality!
We are having some wonderful autumn weather right now, crisp sunny days and beautiful fall colors to admire. Delia gardeners are gathering up their bounty and putting the garden to bed. Get the snow boots out however, because you know it’s coming! And Christmas is only about seventy days away!
