How does that song go? “Oh the weather outside is frightful…” I hope that all of you are spending lots of time indoors with various friends and family celebrating the start of the season. Ernie and Marlene Goebel along with Leonard and Frances Patterson both have a lot to celebrate this week! The Goebels and Pattersons, respectfully, are grandparents! Congratulations to the new moms and dads and grandparents!
Phil and Dawn Faubion hosted an 80th birthday party for Betty Faubion for family and friends. Happy 80th birthday Betty! Many happy returns!
The out of school care is having a Christmas Market. They will be baking, decorating and crafting all month, so if you are in need of last minute gifts or baking for that unexpected company come by on December 23 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Country Kids Daycare, located next to the Co-op.
The Christmas season is almost upon us, and this year the Village Office will be hosting a Christmas house/yard decorating contest. The top three residents with the best Christmas lights and decorations display will receive a gift card to our local Co-op store. Council will drive around the village and judge the displays after 7 on Wednesday, December 21.
The Memory Tree Project is underway again this year. For a small donation, you can honor a lost loved one whose name will be displayed on an ornament on the Memory Tree, the tall tree to the northeast of the Church. The names of the tree will be read on December 24 at 4:00 during the Candlelight service at Nazareth Lutheran. There won’t be a traditional Blue Christmas service this year, but we will take a moment to pray for those we have lost and who hold special importance to us this time of year.
The Shepherd School at the Nazareth Lutheran Church has begun their practice for the Pageant on December 18. If you have a child who would like to take part, please come to rehearsals during church at Nazareth at 10:30. Dress Rehearsal is December 17 at 2:00 pm! All are welcome!
The Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship will begin at 4 pm at Nazareth on December 24. All are welcome! Come and celebrate the birth of the Christ Child!
