Greetings & Salutations! Here’s what’s new this week in the Standard Community…
Firstly, I would like to thank Pastor Dyanna for her dedication and efforts in reporting the Standard news and sharing our small community with the County. I am honoured by this opportunity to continue bringing the latest Standard updates to all readers.
The Standard Municipal Library is hosting a Kindness Scavenger Hunt contest. It is open to all community members. Pick up your scavenger hunt sheet, complete the kindness checklist, bring your entry in by February 20 to be eligible to win the pink bucket of fun, which includes a 3D movie package for 2.
Marci Hira is hosting a Paint Night in Standard at the Standard Municipal Library on Thursday, February 16, from 7 – 10 p.m. You will also learn about an amazing Canadian company that is dedicated towards changing what’s on your plate. Country Kids Child Care is hosting an open Community Meeting on February 15, from 7 – 8 pm at 818 The Broadway. Some agenda items include: the accreditation process (and what that means for the center, the kids, parents and community), expectations for the facility, out of school camp survey results, and Batman the Bunny. Pastor Dyanna and the Nazareth Lutheran Church invite you to celebrate the baptism of Graham Jensen, son of Chris and Jennifer, at 10:30 am on Sunday, February 19. Son-shine Saturday is February 25 from 2-4 p.m., they are baking pies for Shrove Tuesday’s pancake supper on February 28 from 5-7 p.m. All ages are welcome to come bake! On February 26, they will be hosting their monthly “Soup Sunday” following worship at 10:30 am. All are welcome!
