Join the Standard Municipal Library Birthday Club. You’ll receive a birthday card and a new bookmark on your birthday from your friends at the library. This initiative is free to join and open to all members of the community. Library membership not required, but as always, encouraged.
The Standard Curling Club is hosting a Mixed Bonspiel from February 26 to March 4. To join a team or enter a team please contact, Don Cuthill at 403 644 3757 or Darren Firkus at 403 934 7787 by February 22.
The Nazareth Lutheran Church extends an all ages open invitation and most especially to the kids, to Son-Shine Saturday on February 25 from 2-4 pm to make dessert for the upcoming Shrove Tuesday pancake super which will be held on February 28. Please note the baptism of Graham Jensen has been postponed until further notice due to a scheduling conflict. The Nazareth youth are collecting refundable recycling to assist in fundraising for their 2018 CLAY trip. Donations can be left in the garage of the parsonage or you can contact Rich at 403-6433848 for pickup. The congregation is now collecting items for the Mustard Seed Church. Let’s pack Pastor Dyanna’s car and make a difference for our neighbors in need! Items needed are toiletries, new socks, gently used and clean clothing and gifts of money. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
Hope Bridges Society is hosting a night out for the adults, with hand built pottery. You’re invited to connect with others while making a plate or bowl with your own hands! The first class will be held at the Standard Municipal Library on February 21 at 6:30 pm. To register please call 403-983-3640.
Seniors Save The Date! The annual St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon hosted by the Standard Lionettes will be held on, Friday, March 17 at noon. Enjoy an afternoon with good friends and good food. An auction will follow and all proceeds will go to the Palliative Care Center. RSVP to Dawn Faubion at 403-644-3927. And may the luck of the Irish be with you!
