Morrin Community Calendar
So the countdown is on to spring...seems like another chilly week ahead but sure looking forward to warmer temperatures and longing to see the green grass again.
And, to get you all into the spring mode, the Morrin Figure Skating Club’s March Carnival 2017 is only days away, coming up this weekend. The kids and instructors have been working hard all year and the annual show on ice is always so good! So, the Morrin Arena Sportsplex will be host to a bunch of excited skaters and enthusiastic fans this Sunday for the club’s afternoon performance at 2:00 p.m. Come out and enjoy...the concession will be up and running with good food for all (best poutine in my books!) and everyone is welcome.
I mentioned last week that the Morrin Lions, as an organized group, have been together for 25 years. They have a big celebration coming up on Saturday, April 8 and have been at work in the planning stages for that. The celtic/folk music team “The Great Plains” will be on hand to entertain for this exciting anniversary.
The Badlands Bucks and Bows Archery club (what a great name by the way whoever thought of that) is up and running in Morrin and open for the public from 7-10 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. They have renovated the old curling rink at the Morrin Arena and boy...did they ever do a good job! Lots of interest with adults and kids showing up to register, learn and practice this art and sport so, please come and check it out if you are curious. Melanie Monaco is also posting news about the club on the Morrin Corner and Area so you may stay tuned there as well about this new, indoor archery range.
And lastly, BIG thumbs-up to the Morrin High School Girls curling team. With Betty/Tim Primrose coaching, our local talented young ladies have put together another winning combination, and another provincial championship...that would make it...three in a row, well done! We may even see some of them play in the Scotties some day...as the school theme goes...dream big! Cheers!
