I guess win­ter just had to have one last fling be­fore step­ping aside for Spring. We have had lots of snow, icy roads and white­out con­di­tions to go with it. We are for­tu­nate com­pared to our neigh­bors in Man­i­toba and Saskatchew­an and in a few weeks the tulips will be peek­ing through.

Fu­neral ser­vices were held on Satur­day for Nick Mar­shall at the Delia Com­mu­nity Cen­tre. Sin­cere sym­pa­thy to all of Nick’s fam­ily and many friends. Be­cause of the weather con­di­tions, some friends were un­able to at­tend but were cer­tainly think­ing of the fam­ily that day.

Here is an ex­cit­ing event you will want to at­tend- on Satur­day, March 25, at 10:30 in the morn­ing, the Delia Arena will be the scene of a Skat­ing Car- ni­val, the theme of which will be Re­al­ity TV- un­cen­sored, un­cut and un­scripted! Sounds very in­ter­est­ing – you won’t want to miss this one!

On Mon­day, March 6, a floor curl­ing tour­na­ment was held in Cas­tor. The En­di­ang floor curl­ing club sent two teams to com­pete, curlers from Delia who par­tic­i­pated in the tour­na­ment were Dave and Carol Sis­ley and Eva Nielsen. It was a fun day with teams com­ing from all over East Cen­tral Al­berta, the Cas­tor club served a de­li­cious lunch and ev­ery­one went home with a lovely mo­mento. Thank you Cas­tor, for the great hos­pi­tal­ity.

There are still a few tick­ets left for the Richard and Deb­o­rah mu­sic and com­edy show at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre on Wednes­day, April 12 at 2 p.m. Re­fresh­ments and a time of vis­it­ing will fol­low the show. Tick­ets are avail­able from any mem­ber of the Drop In Cen­tre.

Law at Lunch: an en­dur­ing power of At­tor­ney – A per­sonal di­rec­tive, A Will – A le­gal tool­kit video­con­fer­ence at the Delia Li­brary on March 15, from noon un­til 1 in the li­brary.

Leapfrog and Tad­pole Story Time on Tues­day March 28 from 11 a.m un­til noon at the Li­brary.

There will be a preschool li­brary visit on Wednes­day March 22 at 1 p.m. Preschool will be vis­it­ing the Li­brary and they will be exploring Spring! If you would like help with your dig­i­tal de­vice or any or the re­sources of­fered by the li­brary’, come chat with staff on Wednes­day March 22 at 5:30 –7:30 p.m., and they will help you get started. If you have other tech­nol­ogy re­lated is­sues con­tact the li­brary to see if they can help you.

A be­gin­ner’s 3D de­sign work­shop will be held at the li­brary on Wednes­day, March 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., bring a lap­top if you have one avail­able. Learn how to find 3D de­signs for 3D print­ing, and how to cre­ate, mod­ify, or fix de­signs. Each par­tic­i­pant can choose a de­sign to have printed on the li­brary 3D printer. Please con­tact the li­brary to reg­is­ter for this work- shop. A cat’s hear­ing ap­pa­ra­tus is de­signed to al­low the hu­man voice to eas­ily go in one ear and out the other.
