Orkney Oracle
What a weekend for sports fans... nail-biter golf, great curling and at times left you wondering about the end result but what a tremendous honour to the Gushue Team. The Flames start another round of play on Wednesday against the Ducks so that should be good too. (Hardly know I’m a sports fan!)
Here’s another reminder that the Orkney Athletic Association Annual meeting and put luck supper is April 19 at 6:00 p.m. Remember it’s time for the annual dues to be paid too.
Sunday, I watched several newscasts and services from Vimy and around Canada. What a tribute to the fallen with so many thousands attending the services and to see so many young people in attendance with parents and grandparents. I understood from one newscast that there were some 30,000 people at Vimy on Sunday.
If you haven’t started to get your income tax papers together, perhaps you should get started. The deadline comes quicker than you think and it’s not nice having to pay a fine because you are late filing.
Read in the Calgary Sun about those three bear cubs locked in a roadside bathroom in the Park. What a weird thing to see when that man opened the door to use the facilities. It’s odd that the mother can’t be found. Someone must have put them there for “safe keeping” in the hopes that they’d be found still alive.
That’s it for this week. Have a good week. David Allen said, “You can do anything but not everything”.
