We enjoyed a nice day golfing at the Rumsey Connection Tournament over at the Trochu golf course with a delicious steak supper to finish up the evening. The winners of the golf game with the best score was Bradley Nelson, T.J. Herd, Amber Perry and Shane Steen. Elaine Weisse and Dariel McNaughton put together another successful day with 72 golfers from the Rumsey area. They made it official that it was their 10th year and because it was an anniversary year they decided to turn the management over to a new team who will be coordinating the tournament next year.
The Morrin Graduating class will be celebrating their accomplishments this Friday at the Rumsey Hall. It is always so rewarding to see our young people in the community accomplish so much and go on to bigger rewards. Well done everyone.
Brett Holowath, Brighton Watts, Brayden Burrows and Tyler Ferguson were part of a Midget fastball team out of Three Hills this spring and they recently hosted their home tournament on June 16. They were successful in taking home the silver medals; well done, guys.
The Rumsey 4-H Beef club members are busy completing their records books as the banquet night approaches fast. The leaders have set the date for Thursday, July 6 starting at 6:00 p.m. They welcome all trophy donors, supporters, buyers and community members who have been in or contributed to the club in the past.
The next two events on the community calendar will be the Rumsey Sports Days and S.T.A.R.S ride. The Rumsey Sports Days will be held on July 14 to 16 and the S.T.A.R.S ride will be August 13. There will be lots of fun things to do at each event so be sure to mark it on your calendar.
Have a great week.
