Pioneer Trail Centre
On Saturday January 20, Pioneer Trail hosted a Cribbage Tournament. There were 40 people present on this day. We had a wonderful lunch served by the ladies of Pioneer Trail, we were served pulled pork, and salads and desserts which were made by our members.
Thank you goes out to all who helped with preparing and serving such a wonderful meal. Now to the important items from our Cribbage Tournament winners of the games. 1st - Faye and Ed 8 wins and 2 losses and a score of 23 points, 2nd - Clarice and Elaine 8 wins and 2 losses and a score of 42 points, 3rd - Jennie and Shirley 7 wins and 3 losses and a score of 59 points.
Consultation prize went to Barry and Barb with 2 wins and 8 losses and a score of 226. The 50/50 prize was won by Arlene, she won $98.50. The next Pioneer Trail Cribbage Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 21. As the date gets closer there will be more information available right here in this column.
February will soon be here and the Alberta 55 plus Zone 2 Big Country Senior Sports Society will be hosting Alberta 55 plus Cribbage-Singles Qualifier, if you are interested in playing in this tournament please contact Ed Michel (403)734-3670. The deadline to enter this tournament is January 30.
Everyone 55 and over is eligible and has a BCSSS/Alberta 55 plus membership, if you do not have a membership it can be purchased there that day. Come out and join the fun.
Thursday night Bridge results for January 18, are in and as follows, 1st - Jennie DeMille & Lilo Rolf (4170), 2nd - LeeAnn Szolke & Don Robertson (3670), 3rd - Helen Peers & Beryl Sigfusson (3400) well done players. If you would like to play Bridge please contact Don Robertson, they are always looking for more players.
Pioneer Trail offers many different activities happening each day of the week except Sunday, when we are closed. Monday, Crib, Tuesday, Canasta, Wednesday, Bingo, Thursday, Canasta and Scrabble, Friday. Euchre. All games start at 1:30 each day so pick a day and a game and come out and enjoy the fun and a good group of friends. We always have a fresh pot of coffee on so drop by and have a cup of coffee, and while there stick around and join one of the games or check out the other great offerings that can be found at Pioneer Trail. On Thursday mornings we have a fantastic Choir that meets and practices, and they are a wonderful group to listen to. So if you are looking for something to do during the hours of 9 a.m. till 4 p.m. stop by Pioneer Trail say hello, have a coffee, and check out what treasures can be purchased here and stick around and play a game.
