February is Heart Month, it is also Valentine’s Day on February 14, may you be spending the day with someone special.
If you are looking for something to do, stop by Pioneer Trail for our Valentine’s Day Tea, and please help out our local food bank by bringing two items of food.
On Saturday, February 10, Alberta 55plus was busy with the Snooker qualifiers. There were 9 players from the area with 5 of them from Drumheller. The winner was Art Atkinson from Three Hills. With the win, Art will be moving on to the Spring Provincial Games in Camrose. Second place goes to Cal Werner from Hanna, and third place to Remie DeFoor. Well done players who were there on Saturday and good luck to those going to the Spring Provincial Games in Camrose.
There are other events for the 55 plus Alberta Seniors Games, on February 24, Cribbage Doubles will be held in Airdrie, and on March 3, 8-Ball Pool will be held in Cochrane. Both of these events will be qualifiers for the Spring Provincial Games in Camrose. Good luck to all who enter into these events.
Thursday night Bridge results are in, 1st - Freda and Dan Hird (4920), 2nd - Mary and Bill Burke (2920), 3rd - Jennie DeMille and Lilo Rolf (2770), well done players. If there are Bridge players out there looking for something to do on that night, give Don Robertson a call, we are always looking for more players.
Family Day is February 19. If you have family close by, remember to spend some part of the day with them.

Plans are coming together for the Annual Munson and Area Community Association Ladies Night which will take place on March 16. There will be home party tables, a fashion show, a silent auction, door prizes and yummy treats. It’s a great opportunity to get a group of friends together for a fun evening. Mark your calendar on Saturday, April 14 as Precious Cargo from the Three Hills area will be playing at the Munson Community Centre. This group of musicians are descendents of Bobby Hoy and put on an amazing show just like their grandfather did at dances in the area from the 1950s through to the late 70’s. It is a great variety of music and will be a fun evening for all ages. Tickets will be available in the near future.
Congratulations to Kerry and Elesha Sharpe as they were married in a private ceremony on Saturday, February 10. A celebration in the Munson Hall followed. Family and friends had a great time and danced long into the night.
Remember I warned you a few weeks ago that Valentine’s was only a short time away. Well here it is this week already.
There have been some house fires and close calls recently. Make sure you keep items away from space heaters, clean out your dryer vents and take a look around to make sure your house is safe from possible fire hazards. Check to make sure your smoke detectors and C02 monitors are working.
